5 ways being a book blogger has changed me (2 year anniversary!!)

Hey Happy Bookworms!

Today I’m a very happy bookworm because it’s my blogiversary! 2 years – that’s so weird to think about 😲

I wasn’t really sure what to post about, I had a couple ideas but this has been on my brainstorm for awhile & I feel like it’s really cringing unless in this context because I’m allowed to be soppy in this 😝

1) Writing

This is the most obvious one – of course writing every week has improved my writing! But it’s more than that, it gave me the confidence to try out Adi’s story prompt & I actually really like that post, I think it’s good, which I hardly ever think about my stories πŸ˜‚

This slightly leads on from writing because now I feel like I actually write like myself. I don’t write because I think people will like it, I write because I like it (Hey, I told you this was gonna be cheesy πŸ§€) But last year I took a break over the summer holidays to decide if I even wanted to continue blogging or not and I decided that yes, yes I did but I wanted to switch it up & write authentically. So really, this is my first year anniversary of my blog.Β (All the cheessssseeeeeee πŸ§€πŸ§€πŸ§€πŸ§€πŸ§€πŸ§€)

3) The way I read

This change is so crazy! I now read SO. MUCH. MORE. The amount has just increased by a crazy amount, like I’ve already read more this year than the whole of last year by about 20 & the year isn’t over yet πŸ˜‰
I also read critically now, I know what a good book & a bad book is (to me) and a lot of the time my friends are a lot more lenient with how good a book is compared to me.

4) I have encyclopaedic knowledge of books

I swear this is such a weird point but it’s truuueeeee πŸ˜‚
If people name a book – I’ll probably know it & maybe not have read it but know what it’s about and/or people’s opinions. Sometimes people look so surprised that I know the book they’re talking about & I just think that’s just so funny. 😏
Anyway, my point is I know a lot more about books & authors now!

5) Socialising

Online to all you guys – I feel like I’ve made so many friends in people on the blogosphere & you guys really are truly the best πŸ™‚ I want to do a post like Lais’ sometime & shout my favourite people out, so I’ll try & get round to that soon!
But also in real life – it’s given me more confidence in talking to new people & even made me excited to talk to new people & get to know them because I’m finding it more fun to learn about people ☺️

Thank you so much for reading & for sticking with me for however long you have πŸ˜„

Happy two years!! I found your page through Sophie’s two year post – a lot of people seem to have a two year anniversary of blogging this year. These are all such wonderful points and it’s definitely amazing to meet fellow book lovers online. I also love how my TBR seems to grow everytime I come online. Is it already insanely long? Yes but I just keep adding to it and I love it.

Thank you so much! Yes, Sophie was so sweet to mention me πŸ™‚
I wonder why – I guess 2017 was a great time to start a blog?!
I agree – one of the best things about being part of the community is all the recs!

Aaaah I’m sorry I’m late but happy blogoversary love! Blogging changes us in the most interesting ways I think, like blogging has let me make friends all over the world and I adore all my friends! Also the reading more thing, can’t relate on that one, it seems for me I read less because of blogging but that’s also due to me struggling to balance reading and erm blogging xD Anyhoo well done for making it to 2 years El! ❀

I’m a little bit late, but Happy Blogiversary, El!!! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸŽ‰

I can’t believe you’ve been blogging for so long! And I agree so much with everything! Writing so many posts has really helped me to develop my personal writing voice, and I’m so much better than I was when I started! And I also agree that blogging has caused me to read so much more – I used to only read about 8 books a year, and now I read closer to 50! πŸ˜‚ And I understand about the whole “encyclopedic knowledge of books” things – I can walk into any bookstore and know all about the books in the YA section, haha!

I’m so glad I met you in my first year of blogging! I hope you have another great year ahead of you! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

    yayyyy, happy blogversary, el!
i haven’t reached my one year anniversary yet, but i can already totally relate to some of the things you mentioned. i’m much more comfortable to be myself now on my posts, but i hadn’t really found my voice at the beginning. i’ve also been reading a ton more – probably because of the amount of fantastic recommendations you get when book blogging -, and i feel like reading other people stats just motivate me to do just as good.
i’d love to read a post about all your favorite bloggers, as i’m constantly looking for new people to follow + it’s a great way to share love & positivity. i am not the best at socializing, not online not offline, but i do feel like i’ve met some amazing people through blogging that perhaps i would’ve never even talked to and it’s such a privilege!
once again, happy blogversary!!!! here’s to many more amazing years!

Being a book blogger has definitely increased by reading and I actually completed by goodreads goal for once which I thought was impossible πŸ˜‚ and yes I know so much more about books now!! Looking around a bookstore I’m just like I know that book and that one and that one !! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I agree there are so many wonderful people in the book community and you are one of them!! I hope you have another wonderful year of blogging!! πŸ’•πŸŽ‰
