Clearing out my TBR for Halloween (because what’s more scary than that?)

Hey Happy Bookworm!

So this is influenced by the down the TBR hole meme by lost in a story except I’m going to be playing by my own rules πŸ™‚

After that shocking post on how long it would take to finish my TBR in which I traumatised a lot of people (I’m sorry!) I realised that I have a problem. And I need help. πŸ˜‚ I’m kidding but I do want to try & cut down on my TBR – not in a get rid of way but in a finally read them way! So here we go, we’re gonna take a look at some of my TBRs & plan out operation TAKE DOWN THE TBRS!

Howl’s moving castle2294528

This is probably my favourite movie ever, I’m not sure why but I just love it! So of course the book’s on my TBR (and my first too!) My library has it so I think it’s time to put this on hold! Give me a sec…yep! Hopefully I can finally check this off soon.

Pride and prejudice

1885

I watched the Lizzie Bennet diaries on youtube ages ago & was hooked! Pride & prejudice has just always appealed to me and after reading northanger abbey (and loving Jane Austen’s writting style!) this is a definite TBR soon. We have it too so there’s really no excuse.

Everything, everything

This is one of those books. One year of school, I remember everyone read it & loved it. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll like it though because I never really like what I’ve apparently dubbed as ‘one of those books’ but I would like to read it becuase who knows? Maybe I will like it. This will probably stay on my TBR for awhile though.

Solitaire

I’ve had mixed results with Alice Oseman – I loved heartstopper so much (and radio silence is definitely on my TBR as well) but I really didn’t like I was born for this. I’m pretty sure solitaire is in my school library though so I’ll definitely be getting it out sometime soon.

Am I normal yet?

Holly Bourne is another author I’ve had mixed feelings about. I liked floored (which she co-authored with a bunch of other authors) and are we all lemmings and snowflakes? but I wasn’t so keen on it only happens in the movies. Regardless, this is maybe in my public library but definitely in my school one.

So now the real challenge begins – I’m gonna try and read a couple of these soon! I’m thinking definitely Howl’s moving castle and maybe pride & prejudice? We’ll see aboit the others but I will make it my mission to narrow down my TBR!

Hope you guys have/had/are having a great halloween – don’t get killed & have fun! πŸ‘»

ok, this is such a good idea! i desperately need to organize my t.b.r. 😹 i think you’d like “everything, everything”! it’s nothing like the movie (thank god for that) and it’s really sweet and well-paced. i added “howl’s moving castle” immediately after seeing that name. “radio silence” by alice oseman was quite good as well, though i do need to check out her other books. kudos to you for taking a step to organize your books! (something i can never ever do)

I literally didn’t even know there was a movie but I’m sure I’m not missing much since no one ever talks about it!
Yes! I really can’t wait to read Howl’s moving castle now – the film is so good! πŸ™‚

Oooh so many great books!! Pride and Prejudice is one of my all-time favorites, and I also got into it by watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries πŸ˜€ I need to rewatch that…
And Howl’s Moving Castle is also so much fun! The book is pretty different from the movie, but I love them both. And I hope you read Radio Silence even if some of Alice Oseman’s other books aren’t your cup of tea – I think that one’s her best by far πŸ™‚ Happy reading!

Haha yes TBRs are the scariest thing ever and they keep me up at night πŸ˜‚ (I’m being slightly dramatic there but hey πŸ˜‚)

I liked seeing what is on your TBR, I’ve never watched Howl’s Moving Castle so I don’t know what everyone is on about with that but I hope you love the book as much as you loved the movie.
I loved Radio Silence and have been wanting to read more Alice Oseman, hopefully Solitaire will be a good one for you. Again I’ve only read one of Holly Bourne’s book and really enjoyed it (it was The Manifesto on How to be Interesting) and I want to try out more so I’m curious to see what I think of her others. I hope you enjoy am I normal?
Happy reading and you can conquer your TBR, I believe in you πŸ˜‚

This is kinda the weird side of my TBR because they’re all books I added over a year ago (which is mad to think about!)
You should totally see Howl’s moving castle if you ever have the chance because it truly is beautiful + such a masterpiece!

Thank you! We all need a little kick to try & conquer the mountain that is out TBRs! πŸ˜‚πŸ’•

Ooo I didn’t know there was a movie! I’ll try & watch it after I’ve read it – although you really should watch the series on YouTube because it’s great! πŸ’•

I hope you manage to get your TBR under control. Mines ridiculous πŸ˜… I decided to be good and order some new releases into the library (that way I’ll read them right away rather than just add them to my shelf) then, once I’ve caught up with some of the library stuff that I want to read im hoping to get on with some of the books I’ve bought recently. So im really trying to get reading more too

I know! I honestly get terrified every time I look at it πŸ˜‚
Yes! I’ve got a list of the books in my library that I want to read because I’m trying to use it more πŸ™‚

Ooh same on both counts. I avoid looking at it for the most part as it starts to make it seem like a chore. But I have some of the library books that I want to get out first written on a separate list πŸ˜…
