Hey happy bookworms!
How could we possibly end 2019 without a Goodreads wrap up?! I’m here to satisfy all your nosiness & to tell you exactly how this year’s gone! Honestly, looking at some of these books I’m like was this this year?! But here we go – let’s get shocked while learning weird facts about my reading habits!
I read 32,793 pages across 95 books
Last year I read 50 books so my goal for this year was 60 & um…how on Earth did I read 95?! So yeah π I completed my goal with 158%
MY AVERAGE RATING FOR 2019
Sadie by Courtney Summers
This was a really great book!
Right away, the style of it really worked & you found out stuff through both sides of the story that fitted together nicely. I also, really liked the end, a bit of ominous mystery.
There were a couple of reveals that for me fell a bit flat, when a new detail’s been revealed I want to feel that click into place & for this I didn’t get that. I guess it’s party because it’s not that kinda book but I think there were definitely moments when the reveals could’ve been more.
Anyway, it’s not a big deal & I really did love reading this! I also managed to guess some of it before it was revealed & I felt so proud of myself π
*Me now is still cringe but we’ll say a little less so*
BEST BOOKS (In no particular order & also not chronological so idk what I’m even doing anymore)
So if you take anything away from this post then it’s go look these up on goodreads & put them on your TBR NOW!
WORST BOOKS (Sorry to throw these under the bus but it has to be said)
Note my disdain for mermaid books, although I did read Sea Witch by Sarah Henning & really enjoy it so woooo conquered that!
Well, happy new year guys! Hoped you enjoyed this little wrap up post for 2019 – see you in 2020!
I loved reading this as seeing people year in review appeals to my nosy side π!!
You read 95?!?! That’s amazing!! I read 61 books this year so I achieved past my goodreads goal too *high five* but I kind of wish it was 60 books so it was round. lol.
I would love to read Heartless, Toffee and Code Name Verity (as I’ve mentioned before) so I’m glad to hear you liked them all!!
I haven’t heard a lot of good things about Before The Surface Breaks which is a shame because the cover is very pretty!!
I hope 2020 is a great reading year for you!! π

I know though I donβt know how I did it π I think itβs mainly having a blog though, now I have so many good recs that I just want to put away time for reading, you know?
Hope 2020 gives you more time to read!

Hahaha…more like 2020 has already reduced my reading list to textbooks and question banks π
JK tho, I’m really gonna try this time!

Congrats on making it through a whole 95 books! That’s so impressive! I’m so happy to see Crooked Kingdom and Heartstopper among your favorite books of the year π And I need to reread Howl’s Moving Castle – it’s been too long, and I remember loving it when I first read it! Happy New Year, and I hope you find even more incredible books in 2020 β€

That’s a lot of books! I haven’t read nearly as much, not that I mind or anything, because the books I did read were typically pretty good. And yesss Howl’s Moving Castle is on your ‘best’ list.

Privilege of high school and….time stopping abilities? I really donβt know where I find the time π
Of course! Howlβs was the best! I rewatched the movie too & loved it (itβs like the only movie/book duo that I 100% love both of them!)
