Hey Happy Bookworms!
So I finished my O.W.L.s!! ππ I actually did way better than I expected & even picked up a couple extra π So pretty proud of myself all in all – eh I don’t have anything to ramble on about so let’s get into this!
Indigo’s Star by Hilary McKay

I read this for my astronomy class & it’s kinda perfect isn’t it? Stars & all that β¨ These books honestly make my heart float & fill with happiness π
EVERYONE should read them!
Meet Cute by Multiple authors

This was really jarring to read – I got the start of these super cute stories & then as soon as I got into it they would end π¦
Anyway, not all stories are born equal & I definitely enjoyed some of these more than others, I liked the premises of a couple like click and the way we love here but then didnβt exactly like the way they went. Actually, looking back, Iβm realising that the stories got better as the book went on & I liked most of the last ones & not many of the first ones π My faves were print shop, 259 million miles (sooooo sad π), oomph and the unlikely likelihood of falling in love, although honourable mention to the department of dead love because wow that was a unique idea.
Actually surprised at the range of different scenarios all the authors could come up with π Anyway, I obviously read this for my herbology class!
The Swan Kingdom by ZoΓ« Marriott

After wilder girls fell through for my transfiguration class I was delighted to remember this had shapeshifting in it! So I had the pleasure of rereading my favourite book again (If I haven’t already convinced you to put this on your TBR – GO LOOK IT UP!!)
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

Read this lovely book my grandma got me for Christmas for my potions class & it was honestly so sweet & definitely a book Iβll keep around to look at every now and then βΊοΈ
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

After finishing all my classes I thought what better way to finish my O.W.L.s than by finishing HP?! So this is for an extra history of magic class π
What an epic finale!!!!! π₯³
Literally loved experiencing these books again, these last 2 books I havenβt really remembered what happens so itβs been cool kinda re-experiencing them in a way π
My faves of the series have gotta be the goblet of fire and the order of the Phoenix though
The Betrothed by Kiera Cass

And then I still had a little bit of extra time so I decided to read this ARC I kindly got from netgalley for a muggle studies class Publish date: 5th May
You can read my very ranty review here
O.L.W.s π¦

So there we go! Woo for me! I read a total of 10 books this month so I think I’ve achieved the goal of getting me reading during quarantine π₯ <– I’m awarding myself a medal
What about you guys? How did you do on O.W.L.s? Read any of these books? Opinions? As usual – tell me all!!

Ooh Ill have to try something like this out sometime, it looks fun. Well done & congratulations β€οΈ I hope you enjoyed the other books more than The Betrothed π

UM I’M MORE PROUD OF YOU THAN YOU ARE π
“not all stories are born equal” ……….. is this supposed to be some weird reference or what?!
Also, isn’t it weird that I have yet to read The Swan Kingdom, despite… you know… you being obsessed with it? π― But I’m really happy that you loved HP π

Itβs a phrase that a lot of ppl use not all … are created equal but I canβt remember what the original one was (if there was one π€·ββοΈ)
YOU NEED TO READ IT SOON

Congrats on doing so well on your OWLs! Ten books is very impressive, and I’d say you definitely deserve that medal π The Boy the Mole the Fox and the Horse (I had the check that order like three times) has been super popular at the bookstore where I work, and it looks truly adorable π Are you planning on doing the NEWTs this year too?

Thank you! ππ
Yes it won something like best book last year I think? My grandma got me it for Christmas which was sweet π but itβs a great book to have lying around to dip into whenever!
My plan right now is yes but weβll see π

i’m sorry you didn’t enjoy Meet Cute as much, i don’t normally read a bunch of short stories either so i totally get what you said about being invested one and then it ends haha. but it’s great to see that you liked a few of them!! Print Shop was definitely one of my favorites too.
congrats on this readathon and reading 10 books this month! i didn’t do O.W.L.S. (i probably would have failed because i practically only read YA contemporaries this month hehe), but it sounds like you had fun! lovely post ππ

Iβve only read a couple of story collections but Iβve quite liked them all, I think the thing about having a romance one is that in contemporary you need to get invested in the characters for it to work? And you either donβt because thereβs not enough time, or you do & then it suddenly ends π
I was finding it really hard to read in lockdown (still am now itβs over) so OWLs actually really helped with giving me a goal to read towards! Thank you π

This is the most fascinating way of reading books I’ve ever come across, and it’s so great because it just gives you so much variety in the books you read! All these books sound so interesting!
Loved this post.
