25 Blog Post Ideas For Book Bloggers

Hey Happy Bookworms!

So, I’m posting a bit later this week because I had my Fame rehearsals and performances all day this week! *Future Ella, tell me what it was like*
So I knew it was going to be a bit hectic but when Maggie asked if I could guest post on her blog, it was just perfect! A pretty simple post with one of my favourite bloggers, sign me up! This is also my first collab! Woo!! (And definitely not my last, I’ve got another planned for soonish! 😉)

1. Anticipated books list

This is a really great post to do at the beginning of the year or at the beginning of the month, it’s basically just talking about some books that are about to be published and why you’re excited about them or just a little synopsis of them.

2. Bookish Q&A

Maybe get your followers to ask you questions, or do it as a collab with another book blogger, or even just get the questions of the internet. A Q&A is a great and really easy way to let your followers get to know you and spark a conversation in the comments.

3. Stationery haul

If you’re like me then stationary is A-MAZE-ING! And most book bloggers agree so do a haul for back to school shopping or just talk about anything you’ve already got that you like!

4. Book box review

Book boxes are boxes that maybe come monthly or every 2 months that could contain a book or books, book merch or anything really, it depends on what brand you get. From the famous Owl crate to the Willoughby book club (see what I though about WBC here) This is a pretty generalised idea too, so if you’re not a book blogger then there’ll be something else for you, like beauty boxes, clothes boxes, or stationary boxes.

5. Author interview

This is only really an option if you’re a bigger blogger because authors only have so many hours in a day and they want to reach as big an audience as possibly. My friend Kerys has done some so you can check hers’ out and ask her about how to get one since I’ve never done one.

6. Book Vs Movie

This kind of post can take some planning out but you compare the movie to the book and see which one’s better, like I did for the hate you give or To all the boys I’ve loved before.

7. Genre rant

If you like or dislike a particular genre then you can talk about it, it doesn’t have to be a rant, I just didn’t really know what to title this one! 😂 For example, I did a rant on why I don’t really like ‘mainstream’ books (here – this has turned into such a self-promo post but whatever)

8. Problems of a reader

Just talk about how hard it is being a reader…all the heartbreak and tears from characters…to all the expensive books you HAVE to buy

9. Best book covers

I’ve seen a couple of people do this either in it’s own post or part of a tag but you basically just show people all the pretty book covers out there!

10. Character ships

With the rip it or ship it tag going around this is a cool way to get all warm and mushy and cross book-universes to make the perfect book-couples!

11. A retelling

Retell a chapter of your favourite book or maybe rewrite the opening or ending of a book. You could also just do a spinoff fanfic or cross over 2 books and write about how the characters would interact in a new world with different people.

12. Book tag

Pretty easy! Usually just answer the questions of the tag, you might be doing this because you got nominated or just because you want to! A tag was one of my first posts (Not going to link it – so much cringe) because it’s a great way to introduce yourself to your audience, like a Q&A.

13. Book stats

This is a nice yearly wrap up post, Goodreads provides stats for your reading but you could also just DIY and make a spreadsheet or graph yourself!

14. Series review/comparison

Reviewing a series together is often better because you can’t say much about the later books without giving away spoilers. It’s also good in inform people if the series gets better or worse or if one book is bad but if you keep reading then the next is amazing!

15. Book tour

Book tours are when, usually before or just when a book is published, a lot of blogs will take turns making different posts on it. If you get an early release of a book then the author/publishing company may ask you to be part of a book tour, you can also just ask for them. This is really for bigger blogs too but you can still try!

Important note: You can really blog about whatever you want, so even if you’re a book blogger, feel free to try out anything!
